I won my first race of the season in the ¾ classification in Central Park on Saturday morning. Coming through horseshit ally I was in bad position on the front of the peleton with 1k to go. I wasn’t about to lead out the whole field and looking behind me I did not have any friendlies (Dylan or Jayson) on my wheel. So I just sat up and soft pedaled, waiting for a leadout to come around me that I could jump on the back of, and sure enough it did. Coming up to Cat’s Paw I was third wheel and as anyone in a sprint know I just waited, waited, waited to launch the final attack. Luckily the legs were good and the sprint was enough. First one in the bank for Rapha NYC and enough for the upgrade.

Thanks to Dylan who took his chance in lap 3 in a six man break that looked good, but ultimately failed and moved up to help me with 2k to go.

3 riders after Battenkill

I love taking athlete's photos after a hard day. Eyes sink into the skull, exhaustion manifests itself as new winkles and clothes are covered in the day’s road grime.(previously)
