Shrouded in the black thunderheads the distant lightning glowed mutely like welding seen through foundry smoke. As if repairs were under way at some flawed place in the iron dark of the world
Cormac McCarthy “All The Pretty Horses” (via wheremyeyeslie)
This is the 2nd McCarthy book that I have read (first was The Road). I am only about 100 pages in but I am already enjoying it. McCarthy writes mood so well it is frightening. The Road was more a piece on human desperation, loneliness and love than it was anything plot driven.
I am interested where he is going to take me with “Pretty Horses”, but where ever it might be I am sure it will be a good ride.
